What shall I wear?This is a question I am often asked. And understandably a very valid one. At the point of securing your booking, you will receive a style guide with lots of advice and tips. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable!

Can I bring outfit changes?Of course. In fact, I encourage this more so for the little ones. You never can predict any accidents! You can also get clever with layering. So, one outfit may actually be two!

Does my house have to be perfect if we have the session at home?Not at all! I have experience of photographing in homes turned upside down by little ones to homes under construction! Depending on the nature of the session, quite often all I need is a cleared corner next to a good window. Afterall, this is all about documenting your life as it is!

I’d like an outdoor shoot. Can I choose the location?I have a substantial list of outdoor locations I can share with you, but if you have a place that you would prefer or that means something to you then let’s do it! I’m all for finding new places!

What if it rains?We get wet! No, seriously if it is persistent heavy rain we will reschedule, however light rain can look very atmospheric and the little one’s love splashing in puddles which makes for a spectacular picture. I always liaise with clients if the weather is looking unpredictable.

I feel uncomfortable in front of a camera and I’m not photogenic.No such thing! I honestly hear so many people say this to me before a session. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable, and this alone will produce beautiful natural images. It is completely normal to feel apprehensive prior to a session, but my job is to put you at ease. I won’t force you into any poses. I offer light direction and keep things fun and natural.

I’m worried my children will not cooperate.‘Come and play with me!’ who doesn’t want to hear that? My sessions are about fun and play! Tell the children you are going to a location where you will all have fun and a lovely lady called Ruth will be joining in with her camera. I have plenty of tricks up my sleeve to create engagement and if children need a little time out, that’s absolutely fine. I am flexible and we can alternate between shooting different family members at different moments.

Can I order prints?I work with a reputable printers based here in the UK and can offer you a wide choice of prints and print merchandise.

Are you insured?Absolutely! I am insured with a professional insurance company that covers public liability.

Will you travel?Yes I am happy to travel, however outside of a 10 mile postal code I will need to apply an additional travel charge depending on distance and if any toll roads are included.
We were absolutely blown away by the images we received. My husband and I are not naturals in front of the camera but with Ruths relaxed manner we were instantly at ease. I have already recommended Ruth to lots of family and friends because I think she has such a special gift in capturing perfect moments and making them timeless.
